Note that I don't store the files uploaded here, or even record their names - the data persists for a few seconds on the end of a file handle, but then it's gone.

The tar-file fontification here is a bit experimental - it takes about 83 seconds on a PII-333 x 2 system to fontify a 674 Kb perl tar archive with lots of nasty here docs and so on - as always, let me know if it doesn't work for you.
